Meet Keypather, Robin

What excites you about working for Keypath?

I’ve been working in the world of online higher education student success and retention for about 12 years now, but mainly with US institutions. Being at Keypath allows me to expand my experience into international higher education. I’m learning so much about how students in Australia, UK and Canada are taking to online education. It’s been an incredible learning experience.

Where do you see your specialty going in the next five years?

As the world of online education continues to expand and evolve, so will my specialty. Students engage differently now than they used to. Thanks to modern technologies, learning environments and experiences are constantly changing as well. My specialty will continue to change alongside them, and my team will continue to adapt the ways in which we help our students succeed.

How can you use your skills to change the student experience for the better?

Most students who enroll in our programs are trying to fulfill a major personal milestone in their lives. Many aren’t prepared for exactly what’s ahead and have no idea how to get it all done. My team and I help guide students through this journey. If there’s an obstacle up ahead, we help students see it. Then, we proactively manage a way to get though it together, rather than reacting after it hits. I wish I had someone to lead me in this way when I was in school. It would have made all the difference in the world.

What is your favorite personal achievement?

I am one of the few people in my family to achieve an undergraduate and master’s degree. It wasn’t easy, but I was able to get through it successfully with the support of my personal network. That is part of the reason I got into this profession. I know how important support is for a student, and I want to make sure every learner has it. My grandfather had tears in his eyes when I showed him my diploma – that’s a moment that will stick in my mind forever and keep me motivated to make other students have an exceptional experience.

Is there a hobby you can’t live without?

I am a music fanatic. I am constantly listening to music and going to concerts of all genres. Music helps me unwind, and my brain is filled with countless lyrics and a plethora of music trivia. I’m hoping one day I can put my knowledge to good use on a game show.
